Starlight Princess 1000 keeps the look of the original Pragmatic Play slot and changes one number that matters more than any other: the top multiplier. In the original, multiplier symbols run from 2x to 500x. In the 1000 version, they run from 2x to 1000x. Both versions carry the same published RTP of 96.50%, so the bigger ceiling has to be paid for somewhere else. This guide compares the two side by side, shows how the multipliers combine in RM, and explains what to watch in demo before staking MYR on either.

Two tiles, one theme

The Odds96 Malaysia lobby carries both versions as separate games: Starlight Princess 1000 and the original Starlight Princess. They share the anime princess, the gem symbols and the tumble mechanic, so it is easy to open one while meaning the other.

Check the title on the tile before you stake. Pragmatic has also released further spin-offs on the same theme, such as Starlight Princess Super Scatter and Starlight Princess Pachi, and the Christmas edition Starlight Christmas. Those are separate games with their own rules. Everything below is about the original and the 1000 version only.

The comparison in one table

Pragmatic's own game pages describe both versions. The differences are fewer than the name suggests, but they are the ones that shape a session.

Two things the table does not include, because the studio pages do not state them: the maximum win of each version, and the number of free spins in the 1000 version. Both are in the game's information panel. Read them there before playing, rather than from a video or a review.

How a multiplier sequence pays in RM

Pragmatic words the timing slightly differently for each version. In the original, the values of all multiplier symbols are added together at the end of each tumbling sequence and applied to the total win. In the 1000 version, multipliers combine at the end of each tumble they are part of and multiply the player's win. Either way, a multiplier is applied to a win, so the examples below assume it has a win to apply to.

Illustrative examples on an RM1 stake:

The last row is the one to remember. Because the multiplier multiplies a win, a 1000x symbol with no win to multiply leaves the result at RM0.00 in this arithmetic. Confirm the exact rule in the game's information panel.

For the original, Pragmatic says the multiplier values are added together, so a 10x and a 25x make 35x, not 250x. The 1000 version's page says they combine; check the panel for whether that means the same addition.

Free spins: running total or feature total

Both versions trigger free spins with four or more scatters, and in both, multipliers build up over the feature in some form. The way Pragmatic words it differs.

Original. Landing 4 or more scatters gives 15 free spins. When a multiplier symbol hits on a winning tumble, its value is added to a total multiplier, and that total boosts wins for the rest of the free spins.

1000 version. Landing 4 or more scatters triggers the free spins round, where multipliers are collected and added to the feature's total winning value. The studio page does not give the number of free spins, so check it in the information panel.

What this means in practice: in the original, a good multiplier early in the feature boosts the wins that follow, so a feature with no early multipliers can stay small all the way through. For the 1000 version, read the panel to see exactly how the collected multipliers are applied during the feature.

Same RTP, bigger ceiling: the trade-off

Both versions publish 96.50%. That means that, over a very large number of spins, both return the same share of what is staked: on average RM96.50 for every RM100. The 1000 version does not pay back more. It pays back the same amount, distributed differently.

When the top multiplier doubles from 500x to 1000x while the RTP stays the same, the return has to be shared out differently. Pragmatic does not publish a volatility rating for either version on these pages, so the honest summary is narrow:

  • The original has the lower multiplier ceiling, at 500x.
  • The 1000 version has the higher ceiling, at 1000x.
  • Neither is a better bet. The RTP is the same.

For how RTP and volatility work together on any slot, see RTP, volatility and max win.

What the RTP means per session

At 96.50%, the average cost is 3.5% of everything staked. A session of 300 spins at RM1 puts RM300 through the game, with an average cost of RM10.50. Real sessions land far from that average in both directions. The figure is useful for sizing a budget, not for predicting a result.

What to read in the information panel

The studio pages cover the rules. The information panel on the tile covers the numbers you actually play with, and some of them are missing from the studio pages entirely. Before the first MYR spin on either version, look for:

  1. The RTP shown for this tile. If it differs from 96.50%, the panel describes the version you are playing.
  2. The maximum win. It is not on the studio page for either version, and it caps every multiplier story you have heard.
  3. The number of free spins in the 1000 version. The studio page does not give it.
  4. Any extra bet or feature buy option. If one is offered, note its price as a multiple of the stake and what it changes.
  5. The stake range in MYR. Check the smallest stake, so a budget can cover enough spins.

If an item is missing from the panel, treat it as unknown rather than filling it in from a video. Videos are often recorded on other versions or other casinos.

Demo first, then MYR

Practice mode is the cheapest way to feel the difference between the two versions. A demo plan:

  1. Play 100 demo spins of each version at the same stake. Note how many spins pay anything and how large typical wins are.
  2. Watch where the multipliers land. Count how often a multiplier appears in a sequence with a win, compared with how often it appears at all.
  3. Keep going until free spins trigger at least once in each. Note the total at the end of each feature.
  4. Decide before switching to MYR. Pick the version whose pace you prefer, and set a spin count and a loss limit in MYR.

What demo cannot show is how a long dry stretch feels with real money. For more on what practice mode can and cannot teach, see demo slot Malaysia.

FAQ

No. Both versions have the same published RTP of 96.50%. The 1000 version has a higher multiplier ceiling, not a higher return.
